If you’re struggling with sleep, acupuncture can be a useful tool.
Insomnia is very common. One out of three Americans experience one or more symptoms of insomnia. While you may not be experiencing chronic insomnia- no restorative sleep for at least three nights a week for one month or longer- trouble sleeping can still affect your daily life. You could be experiencing problems sleeping for a number of reasons, such as stress, anxiety, medications and physical conditions.
Are you one of the 15-20% of Americans who suffer from severe headache or migraine? We treat many folks with acupuncture for headache pains. And we also see results with low-level laser therapy for headache relief as well.
Did you know acupuncture can be a complementary treatment for depression? Depression is a serious medical illness that can affect every aspect of a person’s life. Typically, ~7-8% of Americans experience depressive symptoms. During COVID, however, that number has dramatically increased. COVID-19 has tripled the rate of depression in US adults in all demographic groups.
Are you looking for Tempe microneedling and nanoneedling services? Patients seeking to minimize wrinkles, age spots or scarring often ask about microneedling.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is the insertion of super fine, short needles into the skin for rejuvenation. The fine needles create a small wound in the skin. Skin cells respond by increasing production of collagen and new skin cells. Depending on the depth of needle penetration, your skin will experience enhanced absorption of facial serums as well as treatment of scars and wrinkles.
Microneedling and nanoneedling reflect advances in technology and our understanding of what promotes skin regeneration. Instead of scraping away and severely damaging the surface of your skin (the epidermis), these treatments keep the epidermis intact so it can keep your skin healthy. The tiny needles reach below the epidermis and create thousands of microscopic channels. These channels stimulate the skin cells to produce more collagen, elastin and keratinocytes. And they also magnify the skin’s ability to absorb any serums we apply- some studies show up to 3,000%!
Is microneedling the same as nanoneedling?
No. Both microneedling and nanoneedling involve the same concept of inserting fine needles into the skin. However, there are slight differences in procedure and treatment purpose.

How are microneedling and nanoneedling different from facial acupuncture?
Our Tempe facial acupuncture service is a more comprehensive treatment that also includes laser therapy. Facial acupuncture inserts a few needles at specific acupoints to address the issues that the patient is experiencing. These needles may be in the face or in other areas of the body. We recommend facial acupuncture for total body and face wellness.
By contrast, microneedling and nanoneedling inserts multiple fine needles that are rotating very rapidly (in some cases up to 18,000 rotations per minute). These needles only go in the face and just to the areas on the skin where there are issues.
What are other terms for microneedling?
Microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy.
How many treatments will you need?
Most patients opt for a series of 4 treatments, with optimal results at 6 treatments. Patients will see gradual changes after the first treatment that continue to build through the sessions.
